Dungeons & Dragons Online Creating a Dwarven Fighter

Edit This Entry

NameCreating a Dwarven Fighter
It has been observed that there is a significant number of players returning to the game. They are those that have stopped playing way before Module 6 was released. Most players believe that Module 7 was the main reason why players are coming back. It's highly understandable because there is a new Monk class to play around with.

When I talked to some returning players, they said they got excited with the new playable class plus the fact that players now have tons of new content, including two new raids and several Wilderness Areas. What amazes me though is not the deluge of returning players, but the number of new players in the servers I play in. I can't say the same for the other servers but there are quite a bit in Khyber, Thelanis, and Argonnessen.

When I built a new toon in one of the servers, I was grouped with people who are new to the game. I am very pleased because it meant that DDO is still attracting new players despite the game being eclipsed by the popularity of other MMORPG such as World of Warcraft and Age of Conan.

Naturally, these new players would ask about character builds and statistics. I figured it's best to create a toon on which they can start playing. This means they have to start with a 28-pt build. They don't have +1 or +2 tomes to use, no fancy weapons, and no uber armors. Just a simple 28-pt build similar to the ones veterans of the game started with two years ago.

At Level 16, this Dwarven Fighter will have the following stats with all the feats and enhancements:

Strength: 24
Dexterity: 14
Constitution: 18
Intelligence 8
Wisdom: 8
Charisma: 6
Hit Points: 362
Spell Points: 0
BAB: 16\16\21\26\26
Fortitude: 14
Reflex: 7
Will: 4

The stats may look too low but you have to remember that there are still no items and no tomes. So, you can still increase your abilities and other starts depending on the items you have. If you happen to get +6 Strength item and a +3 tome as you continue to play the game, you can have total of 33 Strength, which is not bad at all.

This build is good enough for you to start your adventure in DDO. When you are able to unlock your drow or unlock your 32 pt build, that's the time you can start to really enjoy the rewards you get in the game.
